Welcome to the website of the interdisciplinary and international research training group "Philosophy of Place". The research group inaugurated at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt in June 2013. There are currently 7 Ph.D students and 2 Post-Docs whose projects address the phenomena of "place" and "implacement" from different perspectives and in a multilateral manner. The current researchers are working in the following fields of study:
- Philosophy
- German Literature
- Studies in Romance Literature
- European Studies
- Economic Geography
- Cognitive Science
Aside from individual research projects, the researchers meet on a regular basis for an interdisciplinary colloquium and regularly host lectures and workshops by inviting scholars in various disciplines from around the world.
We are currently striving to extend the term of the research group beyond the planned three years. For those young researchers who are considering pursuing a Ph.D or a Post-Doc on the subjects of "place" and "implacement", this research group is sure to make an ideal research environment.
